SYLVAN LAKE – A newly recruited family physician is now available to provide care to residents in Sylvan Lake and area.
Dr. Henelle Swart works out of Sylvan Medical Centre and Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service. She is accepting new patients by appointment; please call 403-887-2221.
Dr. Swart previously practised as a family physician in South Africa, where she worked in the emergency department and with dialysis patients. She received her medical training in 2015 at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
“It’s a pleasure to announce the addition of Dr. Swart to Sylvan Lake and the Central Zone medical team to help care for local residents,” says Devin Dreeshen, Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors, and MLA for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake. “We are thrilled to welcome her to Sylvan Lake, where I am certain her knowledge and skills will be much appreciated.”
With Dr. Swart’s arrival, there are now 18 physicians practising in Sylvan Lake.
Dr. Swart is passionate about mental health and providing holistic healthcare. She enjoys reading and seeking out new adventures in nature with her husband, daughter and their two dogs.
