Voice Clinic

The Voice Clinic offers assessment and care for kids and adults with voice issues.

Here is what is included:

  • Tests by speech-language experts
  • Regular check-ups and continued care
  • Advice given to speech-language experts and doctors

The program provides training for people who want their voice and communication to match their gender identity or expression.

Eligibility

People with voice problems related to:

  • neurological injury or disease (e.g. brain injury, stroke, vocal fold paralysis, intermittent dysphonia)
  • problems due to a medical problem or disease (e.g. polyps, papilloma, cancer)
  • problems due to using the voice (e.g. vocal misuse, muscle tension, vocal cord dysfunction)
Service Access

Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information.

Referrals accepted from speech language pathologists and physicians.
