Calgary vaccination clinics update

February 5, 2010

CALGARY – As of 3:30 p.m., Saturday, February 6th, the Vaccination Clinics located at Avenida Village and Brentwood Village Mall will close.  These clinics will not be reopening.

Beginning Monday, February 8th, H1N1 and Seasonal influenza vaccine will instead be available at all eight Calgary-area AHS Community Health Clinics.

The Community Health Clinics will offer these vaccines Mondays through Fridays, as well as some Saturdays.  Clinic hours vary by location.  Visit www.albertahealthservices.ca for detailed clinic hours and locations.

Vaccination is the single best defense against influenza, and AHS strongly recommends that all Albertans over six months of age get vaccinated.

Individuals in high risk groups are encouraged to get a seasonal influenza vaccination in addition to their H1N1 vaccination. Both the H1N1 and Seasonal influenza vaccines will be available at all eight Calgary-area Community Health Clinics, beginning Monday, February 8th.

Visit www.albertahealthservices.ca for more information, or, call Health Link Alberta to speak to a registered nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  In the Calgary-area, call 403-943-LINK (5465).  Outside the local calling area, call toll free at 1-866-408-LINK (5465).

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than 3.5 million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
