Edmonton influenza immunization clinics closing

EDMONTON – Edmonton’s last mass influenza immunization clinic – the East Edmonton Health Centre location – will be closed as of 8 p.m. tonight and will not be re-opening.
H1N1 and seasonal influenza immunization will continue to be available at the following public health centres (by appointment only):

Some doctors’ offices and pharmacies also offer H1N1 and seasonal influenza immunization.
Individuals in high risk groups are encouraged to get a seasonal influenza immunization in addition to their H1N1 immunization. Seasonal influenza vaccine is also available at these clinics.
Immunization is the single best defense against influenza, and Alberta Health Services strongly recommends that all Albertans over six months of age get immunized.
