East Calgary Health Centre
East Calgary has an ethnically diverse population that statistically faces a lower life expectancy than those in other parts of the city.
Recognizing these needs, and that primary health care services are often the first point of contact for patients, Alberta Health Services has designed the new East Calgary Health Centre to be a single stop for a variety of health and community services targeted for those living in east Calgary.
The new, 75,000 square foot, three-storey building began providing health care and community services in mid-May and will provide a single location to integrate services that are currently located throughout the east side of the city. Community involvement helped determine the design of the $12.85 million facility.
The East Calgary Health Centre’s services include mental health and addictions, chronic disease management, public health and pre- and post-natal care.
