West Nile Virus Awareness
Simple precautions can reduce West Nile virus risk
Alberta Health Services' 2011 Fight the Bite West Nile virus public awareness campaign includes online, radio, newspaper and magazine advertisements primarily focused on southern Alberta where the risk is highest.
The advertising, posters and brochures highlight the simple protective measures all Albertans should take to reduce their risk of contracting the virus. The brochures and posters are often available in libraries, visitor information centers, senior organizations, lodges and supportive living centers, parks, golf courses, Fish and Wildlife offices, hospitals and various other locations within cities, towns, villages and counties.
This information is for all Albertans, especially active adults and those 50 years of age and over who are more at risk of the infection and its serious consequences.
