January 9, 2012

Nominations close Jan. 31 for the President’s Excellence Awards, developed by Alberta Health Services President and CEO Dr. Chris Eagle to recognize and celebrate spectacular accomplishments by staff, physicians and teams.
The President’s Excellence Awards will recognize those who demonstrate innovation, collaboration and patient focus, and exemplify the AHS values of respect, accountability, transparency, engagement, safety, learning and performance.
“Alberta Health Services values the exceptional contributions of our staff and physicians, and I believe that by celebrating achievements through this award we honour the contributions of everyone on our team,” said Eagle.
“These awards are a way for us to recognize the exceptional work undertaken in support of health for Albertans.”
The three awards categories include:
- President’s Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievements in Quality and Safety Improvement
- President’s Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievements in Workplace Health and Safety
- President’s Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievements in Research
“All of us at Alberta Health Services need to be constantly working toward improved patient care and services,” said Eagle. “It is what we expect of ourselves and it is what Albertans expect of us.”
