Designated Assisted Living
Designated Assisted Living (DAL) suites are typically integrated in a larger residential assisted living or multi-level care setting. Residents pay accommodation fees and are responsible for furnishings, personal effects as well as co-payments for medications and aides to daily living. Residents enjoy private suites with their own bedroom and bathroom facilities.
Residents receive room and board services, light housekeeping services, 24-hour availability of assistance and supervision with personal care and social and recreational support. Professional services include 24-hour LPN supervision, RN on-call and intermittent scheduled services provided and coordinated by a client coordinator.
Some DAL sites are designed for residents with dementia. These settings are therapeutically designed to offer comfort and safety to clients who are fearful, who may be at risk for wandering and who need more structure and stimulation.
