The Health Foundation's activities enhance the quality of healthcare through the purchase and support of healthcare equipment, services, and programs at the Brooks Health Centre.

We are an ethical, high profile charitable organization, focused on our donors and responsibly fund enhancements to improve the quality of local healthcare.
On average, the Health Foundation receives donations of $250,000.00 annually. The significance this annual amount can have on the quality of healthcare in Brooks and the County of Newell is immeasurable. Since the foundation’s inception in 1996, the Health Foundation has received nearly 3.8 million in gifts, many of which are “In Memory” donations.
Total room enhancements, with new Electric Beds, Bedside Tables and Overbed Tables, for every acute care room to small enhancements, like Blanket Warmers that keep our patients cozy, are some of the ways donation dollars are used. Other enhancements, such as specialized equipment, allow different specialists to come to Brooks instead of our patients heading down the highway. Wheelchair bikes are used to enhance quality of life by allowing local care facility residents to enjoy “the normal things of life” like going for a bike ride! Being part of a very generous community, who quickly raised funds to help purchase a CT Scanner, is gratifying.
Our community’s generosity has extended past the Brooks Health Centre. Seniors at our local senior care facilities have also benefitted from health and exercise equipment placed in their facilities; Nu-Step exercise machines are helping to keep the residents fit. A Blood Pressure Kiosk in Newbrook Lodge helps with regular monitoring of blood pressure by residents.
