Adult Stroke Assessment Clinic - Outpatients

This clinic helps people in the community who have had a new or recurring stroke in the past year.

This clinic helps people in the community who have had a stroke in the past year. At the Adult Stroke Assessment Clinic, doctors check how well you're doing after your stroke, suggest exercises for you to do at home, and can refer you for more treatment if necessary. They also tell you about programs in the community that can help.

occupational therapists, physiatrists, physical therapists (PTs), psychologists, recreation therapists (RTs), social workers, speech language pathologists (SLPs)
Eligibility

Service is targeted to adults who:

  • have had a stroke in the last year
  • have stable health
  • living in the community (not long-term care)
  • are motivated and interested in therapy
  • are alert and able to follow simple commands
  • can work and get along with others
  • are able to participate in physical activity
  • can have a family member / caregiver present if help is required with personal care
