Alberta Health Services is working with The City of Calgary, Calgary Police Services, and the Calgary Coalition on Supervised Consumption to integrate supervised consumption services at the Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre.
Alberta Health Services supports bringing supervised consumption services to the community as a part of the continuum of health services available to Albertans at the Sheldon M. Chumir. Locating supervised consumption services in an existing health facility helps to reduce harm from substance use while offering additional services such as counselling, social work, and opioid-dependency treatment.
Throughout the planning, development and integration of supervised consumption services, Alberta Health Services and community partners will provide ongoing opportunities to get involved.
Conversations with community members will take place in July with the purpose of bringing residents, business owners, healthcare partners, and health providers together to learn about supervised consumption services, share questions and perspectives, and give feedback at scheduled sessions. These conversation sessions will have limited seating. Please register in advance to ensure your seat. Additional sessions will be scheduled, should interest exceed the existing number of seats..
If you would like to register for one of these conversations, please reserve a seat by contacting us:
