The overall goal of the conference is to improve cardiac patient care. Annually, we aim to bring together a community of health professionals from various backgrounds, who are interested in cardiovascular health and provide an opportunity to learn and network with each other.

An annual memorial service for families, friends and staff to celebrate their loved ones, whom they have lost to cardiac illness. Held the first Sunday of February in the Guru Nanak Dev Healing Garden, 4th floor of the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
A staff led annual event that raises funds for high priority patient needs within the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute during heart month. Teams or individuals spin for 1-12 hours under the direction of a professional instructor. Prizes are drawn every hour and healthy snacks are provided for all participants!
Started as an opportunity to promote heart health and the prevention of heart disease through an active lifestyle, the Heartbeat Run Series has events in Edmonton, Saskatoon and Calgary. Individuals and teams can choose to participate in the 10k Run, 5k Walk/Run and 1k Fun Run. An ideal event for both families who want to enjoy the fall weather and experienced runners looking to wrap up their season with a chip-timed race “the Heartbeat Run has become the last great run of the year”. This may be your year to walk or run!
