Local in person and phone support available to those in need over long weekend

MEDICINE HAT – Alberta Health Services (AHS) recognizes that many Albertans are worried about their health, finances and mental health. This is not an easy time and we are here to help. Support is available from AHS Addiction and Mental Health staff either in person or by phone and we have extended our availability over the long weekend.

The clinic will be open for drop in services:

  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 5, Sunday, Sept. 6, and Monday, Sept. 7
  • Medicine Hat Provincial building, 346 3 Street SE. Access to the building is through the second street doors across from Legion Manor.
  • You may also call the clinic at 403-529-3500 to speak with a counsellor during those hours.

If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, reach out for help. Call Health Link at 811 or the Mental Health Help Line at 1-877-303-2642, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you are in crisis, please connect with your healthcare professional or call 911 if it’s an emergency.

Connection is important. AHS encourages anyone who needs support to also reach out to someone they trust for an honest conversation about their concerns, such as a family member or friend.
