Disc golf course to be relocated in community

October 13, 2020

THREE HILLS – A nine-basket disc (Frisbee) golf course, currently located on the grounds of the Three Hills Health Centre, is being relocated to comply with Transport Canada requirements for a nearby heliport.

An assessment of 30 heliports across the province was undertaken to ensure the new H145 STARS Air Ambulance helicopter could be accommodated. In Three Hills, three above-ground baskets next to the heliport were determined to be in the flight path and subsequently removed. The remainder of the baskets are to be removed this week.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) has been working with community partners to determine an alternative location for the course. With the help of community volunteers and the Town of Three Hills, all baskets will be relocated to the grounds of Prairie College. Installation of the baskets is expected in the spring.

AHS is grateful to these partners for supporting the relocation of this community amenity.
