Obstetrics - Mayerthorpe Healthcare Centre
Deliveries performed in Healthcare Centres are usually low risk pregnancies of 36 weeks gestation or greater with normal vaginal deliveries.
Delivery procedures may include:
- fetal monitoring
- induction of labour
- neonatal resuscitation
- non-stress testing
- Caesarian section when required.
Maternal childcare, breastfeeding and post delivery care start at the Healthcare Centre. The Community Health Services offices in local communities provide prenatal and postnatal services.
