Breathe Easy Program - COPD Rehab - Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre
This pulmonary rehabilitation program (Breathe Easy Program) provides multidisciplinary rehabilitation assessment and treatment services to ambulatory individuals and clients who have a confirmed diagnosis of certain chronic lung conditions.
Mission Statement: To return the person with chronic lung disease to the highest possible functional capacity and quality of life through respiratory rehabilitation programs which include exercise, education and support.
Participants learn about:
• the proper use of medications
• coping with fear, anger and stress
• choosing healthy foods
• the importance of exercise
The exercise session includes warm-up, stretching, breathing techniques, muscle strengthening, free weights, walking and the stationary bicycle and treadmill.

From physician, need chest x-ray (less than 1 year) and pulmonary function test (less than 6 months). We have a referral template available.
