Northern and Central Alberta Maternal - Fetal Medicine Centre

Alternate names: (Previous names: Perinatal Clinic)

Provides inpatient and outpatient services including:

  • assessing pregnant women and their unborn babies
  • prenatal screening and diagnosis of problems
  • preconception counselling
  • treatment if needed


Available to

For residents from northern or central Alberta who have high-risk pregnancy concerns and require pre-pregnancy counselling or prenatal screening and diagnosis.

Women from outside of northern or central Alberta may be seen if there is a specific referral request from a doctor.


Referral needed

A doctor referral is needed. Referral should include prenatal records, blood work, ultrasound reports, maternal blood screen results, and any other relevant information.

genetics counsellors, licensed practical nurses (LPNs), maternal-fetal specialists (perinatologists), nurse practitioners (NPs), registered nurses (RNs), social workers, sonographers
