Breastfeeding Clinic
The intent of this clinic is to assist mothers who are experiencing difficulties with breastfeeding. This clinic will not provide on-going pediatric or maternal care. THIS CLINIC DOES NOT RENT BREAST PUMPS.
Examples of appropriate referrals would be:
- Faulty latch on
- Premature infants with ongoing breastfeeding difficulties
- Induced lactation for adoptive mothers
- Re-lactation
- Slow Weight Gain
- Drugs in breast milk
- Returning to work
Medical Follow-up:
An initial treatment plan will be faxed to the referring physician and a summary will be dictated at the completion of involvement in the Breastfeeding Clinic.

Breastfeeding moms
Referral needed
A Physician or Community Health Nurse referral is required.
Service providers
Registered Nurses who are Board Certified Lactation Consultant's (IBCLC). Links to other health professionals (social worker, dietitian and community health lactation consultants) are arranged as required.
