In my (Verna’s) weekly video address to staff and physicians, I had the opportunity to talk with Dr. David Zygun and Dr. Sid Viner — the medical directors of the Edmonton and Calgary zones, respectively — about their preparations and planning over the past few weeks and how that work has put AHS in a good position as the province approaches the peak in new COVID-19 cases, expected next month. Drs. Zygun and Viner also share their biggest concerns, as well as their messages to AHS teams across the province. Next week, in my weekly video address, we will profile each of the three rural zones in Alberta.
