Cybersecurity during COVID-19

We’ve faced many challenges during this pandemic, and that includes how we access and use information. With the increase in the use of virtual health and visitation, Zoom, Skype and working remotely, there are many privacy and information security considerations we need to be aware of.

As well, cyber criminals are taking advantage of COVID-19 by targeting organizations like AHS with fraudulent emails meant to trick us into opening infected attachments, or click on links that are meant to capture sensitive information.

We’ve shared guidance about privacy and security matters from the InfoCare team in previous email updates, but we thought it would be helpful to hear from them in person.

In this vlog, Sean Chilton is sitting in for me and he is joined by two guests to tell us more about information security and the importance of privacy. They are Robert Martin, Chief Information Security Officer, and Victoria Lane, our Chief Privacy Officer & Legal Counsel. Robert and Victoria provide an overview of InfoCare, what COVID-related phishing scams we’re seeing, and what AHS staff need to know when it comes to protecting information.
