Labour and Delivery

Provides care for pregnant women starting at 20 weeks gestation up to and including labour and delivery via c-section or vaginal delivery.

Provide care for pregnant women starting at 20 weeks gestation who may require hospitalization and monitoring during the pregnancy, up to and including labour and delivery via c-section or vaginal delivery. This includes:

  • care of women who require hospitalization during pregnancy, if necessary
  • care of women over 20 weeks with high-risk pregnancies (e.g., gestational diabetes, toxemia)
  • induction of labour
  • care of women experiencing perinatal loss over 20 weeks gestation

Access
Service Providers May Include
family doctors, midwives, obstetricians, registered nurses (RNs)
Referral Needed

If you need to see an Obstetrician, you will need a referral. Your doctor will send your prenatal health records including ultrasounds, blood work, or fetal monitoring tracings if possible.

Service Access

Please register at the front desk during daytime hours or at the main nursing desk inside the department, you do not need to stop at the main hospital admitting desk.
