FMC Area Communities Working Group (ACWG)

Background

In anticipation of development proposals at the Foothills Medical Centre, Alberta Health Services (AHS) renewed consultation with local Community Associations in 2013. As part of this process AHS, in conjunction with the Community Associations, created the Foothills Medical Centre Area Communities Working Group (FMC-ACWG).

Purpose of the FMC Area Communities Working Group

Alberta Health Services will work with community representatives for advice and innovation in formulating site development solutions. The advice and recommendations obtained will be incorporated into decisions related to ongoing development at FMC, to the full extent possible.

Membership

Community Representation

  • Parkdale – 3 representatives
  • St. Andrews Heights – 3 representatives
  • University Heights – 3 representatives

Alberta Health Services Representation

  • Capital Management, Strategic Capital Planning
  • Community Engagement
  • Foothills Medical Centre Site Administration

Other members as required and invited at the discretion of the Chair.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Working Group will:

  • Act as a link between the FMC area Community Associations and AHS
  • Work collaboratively on communication with community members
  • Support the creation of sustainable partnerships with the local communities
  • Gather input and feedback throughout the planning, design and construction of proposed developments at FMC
