Get Involved

Welcome and thank you for choosing the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital as the organization at which you would like to volunteer!

Many volunteers of various ages assist professional staff at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital by providing care to patients, clients and their families. Volunteering at the Glenrose will enable you to gain experience in a complex and unique hospital setting specializing in rehabilitation treatments and services for patients of all ages. Be assured that your efforts will have a positive difference in the lives of others.

Building Strong and Healthy Communities Together

It is said that those who can, do; and those who can do more, volunteer.

Volunteers complement the care provided by Alberta Health Services staff. As a volunteer, you can gain personal satisfaction from helping others in your community, gaining experience relevant to your future employment or educational goals, meet new people and learn more about the health care system.

Become a Volunteer

If you are energetic, dependable and ready to join this exceptional group, please read the statements below:

  • I am 14 years of age or older.
  • I can commit to a minimum of one shift per week for a minimum of six months.
  • I am prepared to complete the screening process which includes: orientation, interview, health screening, criminal records check with the Vulnerable Sector Check and provide two to three references.

If you can answer “yes” to all of the statements above, please “Apply to Be A Volunteer”.

The screening process, which may take several weeks, must be completed prior to starting your placement. All volunteers are provided with an organization and facility orientation, followed by a department-specific orientation, when you begin your placement. Check out Volunteer FAQs.

To ensure the most rewarding volunteer placement possible, you will have an opportunity during your interview with a Volunteer Coordinator to discuss your skills, interests and availability. Based on this discussion, a suitable placement will be arranged. Volunteer opportunities are as diverse as volunteers themselves. Volunteer Resources is committed to ensuring that our volunteers have a rewarding and valuable experience. It is important to us that you enjoy your volunteer placement.
