The #buildinghope project is asking ‘what is the new Calgary Cancer Centre (CCC) building for you?’ Through candid snapshots and personal tweets, #buildinghope will showcase what the CCC is building for Albertans. This is done by tagging your images on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter with #buildinghope and the official CCC hashtag of #calgarycancercentre.
Through images taken by patients, families, AHS staff, physicians and the general public, #buildinghope will share snapshots of hope, courage, research, partnership, community, etc. The snapshots can be of a simple portrait, a pink ribbon, a mother with her child – examples of what Albertans see the building representing, or building for them.
During the course of the coming year, the community – including staff, physicians, patients and families - will be encouraged to share their photos on social media in an effort to tell the Calgary Cancer Centre story as they see it.
Once received, a selection of these photos will be chosen by AHS to become part of a photo mosaic that spells the word HOPE. As the CCC is being built, the mosaic will take shape and grow, such that in the end, the full mosaic will be displayed in a prominent location in the CCC.
The @AHS_cancercare will be the host twitter account for the project.
