Renal patients from across the province are working together to help Alberta Kidney Care boldly go where no exercise program has gone before. For the ninth annual Kidney March Patient Exercise Challenge, renal patients are taking aim at their longest route yet — from the Earth to the Moon.
In "No Limits: Mission to the Moon", hemodialysis patients from throughout Alberta will follow in the footsteps of the Apollo 11 lunar landing. By combining their total exercise distance, they hope to travel as much as possible of the full 384,000 km route representing the path from the Earth's surface to the moon itself.
This feat of dedication and teamwork helps patients improve their overall health and happiness, both through exercise during dialysis treatments and through living active lives.
