Provincial Family Violence Treatment Program

Information for the Public

Provides support and treatment to help individuals with a history of family violence. The program has been developed to reduce family violence by helping treat those who have a history of family violence, keeping families and communities safer. The program is for individuals who have been mandated through the court system for charges related to domestic violence; however individuals can also access the program by contacting the family violence treatment service provider directly.

In addition to treatment, family violence treatment service providers, partially funded under the Provincial Family Violence Treatment Program, work with community partners to provide a community response to family violence. Law enforcement, crown prosecutors, victim services, and family violence prevention coordinators are all part of the coordinated community response in providing safety for victims and families of domestic violence
