The Cardiac Surgery program at the Mazankowsi Alberta Heart Institute is a leader in adult and pediatric cardiovascular surgery, serving patients from across western Canada including: central and northern Alberta, northern British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Yukon.

The program supports one of the largest heart-lung programs in western Canada serving a land mass of size of greater than 65 million km².
