Heat Health: Socially Isolated/House-bound Individuals

When a heat advisory is in effect, area-residents are reminded to frequently visit socially isolated neighbours, friends and older family members, including those with chronic illnesses, to make sure that they staying cool and hydrated.

By visiting in person, you are more likely to identify signs of heat illness that you could otherwise miss when checking in over the telephone only.

Checking in by telephone call should only be done for people who are fully capable of self-care.
