EDMONTON – Pregnant women in the Edmonton area now have even more choice when seeking education on childbirth and all that follows.

After a successful pilot run, a prenatal program in the Edmonton Zone of Alberta Health Services (AHS) has launched a new series of classes to support families in their breastfeeding journey. Taught by nurses with specialized education and training, these classes will help families through the feeding journey.

Part 1 (basics) will cover anatomy, physiology and hands-on tools to use during pregnancy. Part 2 (advanced) will cover common issues and concerns that could arise after delivery, once the breastfeeding journey begins. The classes are designed to be taken in succession but participants can choose based on their needs. Each class is $30 for 3 hours of instruction at CapitalCare CHOICE South Restorative - 9839 31 Ave NW.

There are two start dates/times to choose from: Part 1 (basics) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26; Part 2 (advanced) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27.
