Stroke Ambulance (ACHIEVE), Project Summary & Phase I Education for Rural physicians & Clinicians

A brief overview of Canada’s First Stroke Ambulance (ACHIEVE 2-year pilot project), which was implemented on February 6, 2017 at the University of Alberta Hospital.  Focus of this video is on Phase I for purposes of clinician education.

Edmonton Zone’s Stroke Ambulance – the first of its kind in Canada, began operations on February 6th in a 2 year research project examining pre-hospital assessment and treatment of Hyperacute ischemic stroke utilizing a custom designed ambulance equipped with a portable CT scanner, videoconference capabilities, and portable laboratory analyzer (among other specialized equipment) and a unique, specialized multidisciplinary team.
