“After Your Loss” Guides for Families
These guides were developed by the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Program with support from families, health professionals and our program partners in the province.

Print copies of the Family Guides are available to AHS staff through DATAOnline. For more information view the how to order guide.

Mementos for Families After a Loss
Our Program supplies Calgary and area hospitals with mementos such as memory boxes, baby clothing, and blankets, to help families cherish and remember their baby over time.

Groups

Bereaved Parents Support Group, facilitated by AHS
A 6 week closed group offered twice a year. Registration is required. For more information contact: 403-944-8835

Caring Beyond
Caring Beyond offers peer support to parents who have lost a baby due to miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, neonatal death or termination due to poor prenatal diagnosis. Memorial Services

Silent Hopes Memorial Service, AHS
Service to honour the loss of pregnancies 20 weeks gestation and under. Service is held twice a year (Spring & Fall). For more information or to receive an invitation contact: 403-944-4460

Service of Remembrance, AHS
Service to honour pregnancy losses over 20 weeks of gestation. Service is held annually. For more information or to receive an invitation contact: 403-944-4460

Candlelight Service, AHS
Service is held first Friday in December at the Alberta Children’s Hospital to remember. For more information contact Caring Beyond (see contact information above).

Events

Walk to Remember
A fund raising and family oriented event which is held every September. For more information go to www.calgarywalktoremember.ca

Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day – Oct 15
Across Canada events are organized to honour losses. In Calgary, see the Walk to Remember site at www.calgarywalktoremember.ca

Tiny Footprints Gala
This celebratory gala honours the strength and love it takes to move past pregnancy and infant loss. It is held the closest Saturday to Oct 15th. Tickets are available online through the Calgary Health Trust at www.calgaryhealthtrust.ca or for more information visit our facebook page Tiny Footprints Gala 2017.
