The Pediatric Centre for Weight and Health (PCWH) is a Stollery program located at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre. Remember to bring your child’s Alberta Healthcare card and a piece of ID.
If we asked for your child's blood work to be completed, try to complete it before your first appointment..
Located at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre
We are located at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre (EGCCC) Unit 8B [B Wing], 11111 Jasper Ave.
The stairs and elevators to our clinic are located close to the doors facing (north) the main EGCCC parking lot on Jasper Ave. If you have difficulty finding B Wing, there is a Help Desk just inside the 100 Ave entrance.
Our clinic is located on the 8th floor of B Wing. Once you arrive at the 8th floor, you will see the pink Stollery Bear on the wall to the right. Follow the hallway through the doors, which will lead you to the front desk to check-in.
Before your first clinic visit, our nurse will contact you to ask some questions over the phone. This appointment gives our team valuable information about your family before we meet with you in-person. As part of an initial assessment you will meet with each member of our multidisciplinary team (Nurse, Pediatrician, Dietitian, Exercise Specialist, Psychologist and Social Worker). Initial assessments may be done at one visit (half a day) or over 2-3 shorter visits. All primary caregivers (if possible) attend this appointment with your child.
The frequency and length of follow-up appointments varies for each child (and family). Follow-up appointments are done in-person, but can also be provided by phone, email or Telehealth (videoconference). Home visits are also an option for families who live locally.
Email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) or contact our front desk (780-342-8399) if you have any questions.
