Watch a Calgary Field Hospital get Built

COVID-19

Alberta company Sprung Structures recently donated a 6,000-sq.-ft tensioned membrane building that will be used as a field hospital located outside of the Peter Lougheed Centre in northeast Calgary.

Construction started April 8 and our time-lapse cameras were there to capture how an empty parking lot space was transformed into the site of a future field hospital, which is expected to open in late April. It will add 100 treatment spaces which will help AHS respond to increased demand caused by COVID-19.
