Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the online booking tool?

A: AHS developed the COVID-19 immunization online booking tool for eligible healthcare workers to book their COVID-19 immunization appointments online from their phones or computers.

Q: Who can use the online booking tool?

A: Eligible healthcare workers receive a direct email from AHS with a unique link to go online and book their immunization appointment.

However, in order for AHS to respond to the reduced vaccine supply over the past month, adjustments were made to the COVID-19 vaccine implementation plan.

Effective Feb. 16, all eligible healthcare workers in Phase 1 who have received an email invitation are now able to book appointments for the vaccine, including those who previously received their invitation, but did not book an appointment.

We encourage everyone who has received an invitation to book their COVID-19 immunizations as soon as possible..

See Top COVID-19 Vaccine Sequencing Questions for more information.

Q: How do I use the tool?

A: Eligible healthcare workers receive an email directly from AHS with a unique link to go online and book their appointment. This is a one-time link that will no longer be valid after an appointment is booked. This ensures the right people are being booked in for their immunizations at the right time, based on the criteria outlined by Alberta Health.

Rebooking your appointment online:

You can rebook you appointment by going to your COVID-19 immunization confirmation email from AHS Booking and clicking on the link at the bottom of the email to modify your booking, or visit ahs.ca/updatebooking. You will still see your current appointment in the online booking tool but it will not be accommodated. It needs to be rescheduled to a later date.

Q: I am eligible but have not yet been contacted. What can I do?

A: If you are a healthcare worker and have any questions about your eligibility, see the Top COVID-19 Vaccine Sequencing Questions for more information. You may also contact your supervisor or medical leader. Please do not call Health Link.

Q: What if I do not regularly check my AHS email?

A: For AHS to reach out to staff and physicians as quickly as possible, it is critical that staff ensure their contact information in e-people is up to date with accurate contact information including the email they most regularly use.

Q: I am a healthcare worker. May I share the link with my colleagues who have not yet been contacted to book their appointment?

A: The link provided to each eligible healthcare worker is a one-time link that expires after an appointment is booked. This is put in place to help ensure the right people are being booked in for their immunizations at the right time, based on the criteria outlined by Alberta Health.
