Clinical Indications: | The rapid HIV antibody test is restricted to in-patients or those in the Emergency Department for one or more clinical indications below: 1) Source patient of blood or body fluid exposure 2) Female in labour and delivery with no recent HIV testing and ongoing risk behaviours 3) Acutely ill patient with HIV in the differential diagnosis 4) Person with HIV risk behaviours, unlikely to return for results 5) Other – reason must be specified | ||
