Additional Test Information:	Rapid HIV Antibody Screen can only be ordered on Red Deer Regional Hospital registered inpatients and emergency patients. The reason for testing must be included with the test order. Important indications for testing are: Source patient of blood or body fluid exposure Female in labour and delivery with no prenatal care or recent HIV testing Acutely ill patient with HIV in the differential diagnosis Person with HIV high risk behaviours, unlikely to return for results Other - reason must be specified All other Central Zone ordering locations: Continue to order following the ordering directions listed for either the HIV 1 & 2 Antibody test or the HIV RNA (PCR) test.
