Additional Test Information:

FOR SPECIMENS REFERRED TO AND TESTED IN RED DEER:

Collect gray top (K oxalate Na fluoride).
Plasma, 1 mL.
Collect on ice.
Centrifuge and remove plasma within 15 min of collection.
Freeze and submit on frozen gel pack.

FOR SPECIMENS TESTED ON-SITE WITH I-STAT:

Collect light green top (PST - lithium heparin).
Use whole blood (fill to capacity).
DO NOT collect on ice.
Test whole blood within 15 min of collection.
