| Specimen Collection Requirements: | Note: If suspect/confirmed CJD – call 403-388-6057 (Lethbridge and Area) prior to collection. Tube # 1 - Chemistry Tube # 2 - Microbiology Tube # 3 - Hematology Tube # 4 or more: See Viral Culture, CSF (VIROV1), AFB (TB/mycobacterium culture), CSF (TBROV1), Malignant Cells, or Fungus, CSF (FUNROV1 or FUNINV1) or other miscellaneous tests Collect a minimum of 1 mL CSF (adult) or 0.5 mL CSF (Neonates) into each of the sterile screw capped tubes. Label tubes with patient information and number in order of collection. Immediately deliver specimen(s) by hand to lab staff. | ||
