If cascade testing is required, order Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, Progressive TSHP.– (FT4 and FT3 results may be included dependent upon the TSH result obtained)

Empiric treatment predicated on a single TSH measurement between 6.51 and 10.00 mIU/L in non-pregnant adults remains controversial. Suggest clinical correlation and consider repeat TSH at an appropriate interval.
