Method: | IgM may be negative if the patient is tested in the first 3-5 days after onset. Consider retesting 7-10 days later if Hepatitis A is suspected. | ||

Additional Test Information: | Note: HAV IgM antibody may be detectable after the patient has been recently immunized. For assessment of immunity to Hepatitis, request HAV IgG. Testing after two doses of vaccine is not required unless the patient is immunocompromised or there are reasons to ensure immunity. | ||
