Specimen Type:	Viral swab of material inside lesions (in universal transport media) Tissues (fresh frozen or paraffin embedded)
Specimen Collection Requirements:	Lesion material Using aseptic technique, deroof >1 skin lesions Using a viral swab, swab the base of the lesion vigorously and the skin lesion material Submit to the lab in Universal Transport Media Tissues Fresh frozen tissues should be submitted in a sterile container (i.e. 1-2mL sterile tube or sterile orange-top container) Paraffin-embedded tissues Send four to six 10uM sections in a plastic tube or vial Do NOT send paraffin-fixed slides.These cannot be processed. Clearly indicate that specimen(s) submitted are paraffin-embedded
