Specimen Collection Requirements:

Serology

Adult: 5 mL GOLD SST
Pediatric: 2 mL RED

NAT/PCR

Aqueous or vitreous fluid in a sterile container
Amniotic fluid, BAL, biopsy material, CSF or urine in a sterile container
Bone marrow or whole blood in an EDTA tube
5 mL serum separator tube (SST) or pediatrics may use 2 mL red top tube

Routine Turn Around Time:

Toxoplasma Serology – 5 days
Toxoplasma NAT – 48 hours
