| Method and Interpretation of Results: | Samples are tested by PCR for the integration of HIV-1 and HIV-2 into peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs)
    HIV-1 DNA was detected indicating that HIV virus is present. Patient should be referred to the Northern Alberta Program or the Southern Alberta Clinic for treatment and follow-up.     HIV-2 DNA was detected indicating that HIV virus is present. Patient should be referred to the Northern Alberta Program or the Southern Alberta Clinic for treatment and follow-up. | ||
