Specimen Collection Requirements: | Refer to Dynacare Test Directory: Inorganic arsenic, urine 50 mL aliquot of 24 hour urine in plastic Starplex container. Random urine is also acceptable, but 24 hour urine is preferred. Keep urine container in the refrigerator during collection. Collect away from suspected exposure site. If workplace exposure suspected, collect during off-hours, away from work environment. | ||
Processing: | For 24 hour urine, measure total urine volume and aliquot. PSC &RRL: Transport on ice to DSC. Send specimen in a separate bag with a photocopy of the requisition. Extra-regional: Aliquot specimen and transport to DSC on ice. Send specimen in a separate bag with a photocopy of the requisition. DSC Accession: Store refrigerated. | ||
