Additional Test Information:	In alignment with current Canadian Diabetes Association Clinical Practice Guidelines, 2 hour PC orders are not available. If a patient presents to the laboratory with a requisition for fasting glucose AND 2 hour PC glucose: Order and collect only a fasting glucose. Append the Order Comment 2HPC which expands to: In accordance with the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) guidelines, Alberta Health Services (AHS) has discontinued the 2-hour p.c. glucose test (see AHS lab bulletin "Standardization of Glucose Reference Intervals and Critical Values"). A fasting glucose has been provided. See the CDA website for updated guidelines on diagnosis and monitoring diabetes.
