The following information does not apply to Hippuric Acid, or Serotonin - Urine. Refer to individual test pages.

Direct patient to obtain container with 25 mL of 6N HCl from Beddington or Riverbend PSC or RRL Outpatient labs.
HCl is not available at any other PSC.
Specimen may be dropped off at any PSC after collection is complete.

24 Hour Collection

For the following tests, Sulfamic acid is the preferred preservative, however HCl is also acceptable:

If Sulfamic acid is used, refer to individual test page. If HCl is used, refer to the following table:

Less than 5 years	Collect in 5 mL of 6 mol/L HCl
5 - 10 years	Collect in 10 mL of 6 mol/L HCl
10 - 15 years	Collect in 15 mL of 6 mol/L HCl
15 years - adult	Collect in 25 mL of 6 mol/L HCl

Random Collection

For the following tests, Sulfamic acid is the preferred preservative, however HCl is also acceptable:
