| Additional Test Information: | 1. Performed on pregnant women usually between week 24 and 28 of pregnancy. 2. Patient does not need to be fasting. We recommend that the patient not eat for 2-3 hours before a GDS test. The best time for this test is before lunch or mid to late afternoon 3. Give the patient a 50 g glucose drink. Patient should ingest the entire drink as quickly as possible within 5 minutes. 4. Draw the specimen 1 hour timed from the start of ingestion of the drink. | ||
