Additional Test Information:	Molecular Vaginitis Screen performed for all patients > 14 years of age. This test simultaneously detects Bacterial Vaginosis, Candida species and Trichomonas vaginalis. See Vaginitis Screen for test information The vaginitis screen is not performed on children 0-13 years of age due to differences in normal vaginal flora in this age group. If clinically indicated, order a genital culture for these patients. Refer to: Genital culture, bacterial (Calgary/South) Vaginal culture - 13 years & under (Edmonton/Central/North) Genital culture (Chinook, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Grande Prairie and Northern Lights Regional Labs) If vaginal candidiasis treatment failure or refractory disease, yeast culture will be performed. Clinical history must be provided and a separate swab (ESwab) submitted. Refer to Vaginal Culture, Yeast.
