Specimen Collection Requirements: | Warm tubes to 370C for 30 min prior to collection. Collect three x 4 mL or two x 6mL tubes. | ||

Processing: | Allow to clot for 1 hour at 37ºC. Spin in a warm serological centrifuge if available and separate serum immediately. | ||
Method and Interpretation of Results: | A positive result indicates a hemolysis pattern consistent with Anti-P (Donath Landsteiner antibody), which is an autoantibody found in the serum of patients with Paroxysmal Cold Hemoglobinuria (PCH). | ||
