Collection Alert: | Venipuncture should be performed with minimal amount of trauma. If possible, avoid using a tourniquet. Collect a normal, preferably age-matched, peripheral blood specimen and transport with patient specimen. Normal controls should not have ingested in the previous 10 days: ibuprofen, aspirin, red wine, dark chocolate, gravol, or antacids. Specimens collected within Alberta must arrive to Calgary on weekdays within 24 hours. Check courier schedule before collecting. Do not collect on weekends and stat holidays. Specimens outside of Alberta must be collected Monday to Thursday ONLY. | ||
